IMF will not give anymore money to Ukraine?

”I think the IMF will not give us any more, until the end of the year,” said Oleksandr Shlapak, deputy head of Victor Yushchenko’s presidential administration. “We are not fulfilling our obligations – practically none of them,” Mr Shlapak said pointing to shortcomings by the government of Yulia Tymoshenko, prime minister and a bitter presidential opponent. Mr Shlapak’s comments come amid an IMF mission to one of the economies hit hardest by recession to discuss further co-operation. Results of last Presidential election poll - Yanukovych is a champion!

Poll lead by Razumkov Center at the end of July shows following results:1st round:2nd round2nd round2nd roundYanukovych – 22%Yanukovych – 40%Yanukovych – 38%Yacenuk – 32%Tymoshenko – 13%Tymoshenko – 28%Yacenuk – 34%Tymoshenko – 23%Yacenuk – 11%   Yanukovych improved his rating almost per 5% since the last poll. Yushchenko and Symonenko have stable rating around 4%. Lytvyn enjoys only 3% of voters support. Yacenuk has bigger support in Western Ukraine than Tymoshenko (21% Vs 19%). Cabinet of Ministers is eager to develop offshore carbon projects in Black and Azov Seas

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliya Timoshenko got an opportunity to correct miscalculations in the plans of offshore areas of Black and Azov seas development. Government is preparing a document that will decide the fate of oil and gas shelf. On the instruction of Vice-minister Oleksandr Turchinov five ministries - the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Ministry of Fuel and Energy, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Justice should complete the project of the National Programme of Mineral Raw Material Base Development in Ukraine till 2030.Amendments have to take into account the norms of the project of the state targeted economic programme of carbohydrate resources ... UKRAINE IS PLANNING TO CUT IMPORT OF RUSSIAN GAS IN 2010?!

Ukraine is planning to reduce the amount of Russian gas to be imported to Ukraine in 2010 to 25 billion cubic meters, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said on August 20, 2009 in Lviv. "This year, we have bought 33 billion cubic meters of Russian gas, and next year we'll import 25 billion cubic meters," she said at an annual meeting of the World Congress of Ukrainians.  Tymoshenko said that Ukraine was also planning to introduce energy saving and alternative types of fuel. It was reported earlier that NJSC Naftogaz Ukrainy had initiated the process of reducing the amount of gas it is contracted to buy from Gazprom in 2010.
